I found out about Carnmoney DofE through Facebook and contacted them about completing my Gold award. The leaders could not have been more helpful and answered all of my questions before I signed up. The training nights and training weekend were extremely informative and a really nice way to get to know the team before the practice and qualifying expeditions. Having completed my silver award with school I was dreading the expedition section of the award, but Carnmoney made this extremely enjoyable and due to the excellent training we received I felt confident navigating on the practice and qualifying expeditions. I really can't recommend Carnmoney DofE enough, especially to those who didn't have a great experience of DofE in school. The leaders really know their stuff and go out of their way to ensure that you know what you're doing, have the proper kit that fits well and that you just enjoy the experience. Having now completed my gold expedition I can't wait to get back out on the hills and feel confident enough in my skills to do so!

I completed my Gold Duke of Edinburgh at the beginning of September 2021 with the Carnmoney Open Award Centre. Taking care of our group, Lisa, Michael and Lynsey supported us greatly and took on more challenges than they were probably expecting. We could not have possibly asked for better leaders to get us through a process which at times can be both mentally and physically exhausting. I will be forever grateful that we got the chance to do the expedition with such amazing leaders.

In September 2021 I completed my Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award with the Carnmoney Centre and had an incredible experience. The volunteers, in specific, Michael, Lisa and Lynsey were amazing from the beginning to the end of our experience, and their continuous support, caring nature and kindness will never be forgotten. We couldn't have done it without them! The commitment and dedication of these individuals to both our award and to the Duke of Edinburgh organisation as a whole was inspirational and they should be immensely proud of themselves! I would highly encourage anyone to complete their Duke of Edinburgh Award with the Carnmoney open award centre and wish them all the best in the future!

I really enjoyed my experience of all bronze silver and gold with carnmoney open award. The leaders did everything they could for us and was greatly appreciated. They went out of their way for extra meetings and gave up spare time for training.

Carnmoney Open Award Group are absolutely fantastic. They assisted with my daughters Bronze, Silver and now Gold award and the attention to detail was second to none. Every member is genuinely dedicated, hardworking and methodical in their approach and guidance. I completed my Gold and Silver awards with the Carnmoney unit. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and gained lots of new skills over the years. The leaders are super helpful with all the different sections and are always up for a laugh with you along the way. It’s a really good environment to complete DofE and I really value the experiences I have taken from it.

Carnmoney Open Award Centre were amazing for DofE. The team consisting of Michael, Lisa, Lynsey, and John were so supportive in helping me achieve my Gold DofE. They are all so kind, caring, and good fun, and they really know their stuff when it comes to hiking. They are very patient when teaching and they have all really inspired me to continue hiking after DofE. Their team has made my Gold DofE so memorable, and I honestly couldn’t recommend Carnmoney Open Award Centre enough. A big thanks to all of them for everything they’ve done!

Carnmoney DofE group went above and beyond to help us achieve our Gold expedition with the very little dates us participants had available. After having completed the Silver expedition with school I was dreading the Gold. However the team made it so enjoyable and fun and I can not recommend them enough. The leaders helped us gain confidence with navigation and ensured we had all of the essential supplies. The Lake District was a memorable experience thanks to the leaders.

I completed my gold DofE with Carnmoney Open Award Centre in 2019 and thoroughly enjoyed my time working with the team. The weekly training sessions were excellent and properly equipped me with the skills needed to tackle the expedition. My son wanted to do the Duke of Edinburgh Award and as his school did not provide this we had been told about Carnmoney. He did not know anybody going into this and I was relieved to hear from him about how much he enjoyed it. It is the start of the journey for him but this has already given him such confidence. Michael, Lisa and the team are very supportive.

One of the most incredible experiences I’ve ever had!! The team at Carnmoney are well organised and will get you through any of your awards extremely well. My son completed his Bronze as his school do not offer the opportunity.
